The Desert Perpetual is a Destiny 2 raid introduced with The Edge of Fate. Set within the realm of the Nine, the raid sends Guardians into an unusual non-linear structure where the first three encounters can be completed in any order.
Unlike most raids, The Desert Perpetual does not follow a simple encounter-to-encounter path. Instead, players begin in a central hub and choose which of the first three bosses to challenge. After defeating Agraios, Inherent, Iatros, Inward-Tuned, and Epoptes, Lord of Quanta, the path opens to the final encounter against Koregos, the Worldline.
The raid is built around timing, role assignments, visual callouts, and mechanics tied to temporal manipulation. Players will interact with systems such as Hourglass timers, Chronons, Vex cubes, mines, vision pools, and encounter-specific roles that require strong communication across the fireteam.
The Desert Perpetual also includes an Epic version of the raid. Unlike a typical Master difficulty, Epic difficulty can significantly change encounter flow, with the final boss requiring a dedicated Epic walkthrough rather than a simple list of modifiers.
The Exotic weapon tied to The Desert Perpetual is Whirling Ovation, a Strand Exotic Rocket Launcher that can drop from the final encounter. Players may also pursue raid triumphs, secret chests, high-tier weapon drops, and the Atemporal title.
